- "Questions
& Answers"
-
Do you have questions that you might be seeking an answer
to? Well this is the place to come and ask!
Yes slave girls of Gor, we are going to try to answer all
of the grand and wonderful questions, that
"we" as gorean slaves ask daily.
meara and kyna are here to help or at least try that is
and we hope you will be teaching us as well! We
want this not to be an opinion column, but a forum for
fact and fiction. The topic can be of anything you
wish, from which spoon to use when stirring a Master's
blackwine, to.. do we have a recipe for Gorean Chocolate
Chip Cookies? All questions will be answered within
the rule limitation. (yup rules!)
- No personal
bashing is allowed here, if you're having problems with
another slave or person please go ask them not us.
- No names via
Masters/Mistresses/slaves....will be mentioned in the
answers.
- All questions
must be email to [email protected] by
Saturday Night.
"This
week's questions"
- Question
1: Master has asked this slave a question that she
hasn't been able to answer, hope you can help! Here
it is: Why would another Master have to ask this
slaves Master for permission before borrowing this
slave? thank you for any help you can give.
kyna has
considered this question for the past week. after some serious
thought, kyna has decided that it needs to be answered in two
parts. kyna will answer it first in the book sense, providing
quotes and reasons from the book, then in real life sense.
first of all,
let's point out right off the bat, there was no such thing as
sexually transmitted diseases on the planet Gor. this world, for
the most part, was largely absent of such unpleasantries as that.
it certainly made sharing a slave with another Man, or several
other Men, less frightening to the Master's health as well as the
property's health.
in the books, a
Man seldom used another Man's property without her being offered.
now this is not taking into account Tavern slaves, as they were
available with the price of paga. a preferred slave was almost
never taken without being offered, although a preferred slave, in
the books is often offered to the use of the Man's friends. an
example is found in a prior quote used in this column's answer to
the question of 'white silks';
- At these
times, Hassan, cross-legged, would sometimes sit silently
before his tent. We did not then disturb him. Oddly
enough he permitted no one near him at such times but the
collared slave girl, Alyena. She alone, only female and
slave, would be beside him, lying beside him, her head at
his left knee. Sometimes he would, in these times, stroke
her hair, or touch the side of her face, almost gently,
almost as though her throat were not encircled by a
collar. Then, after the stars would be high for an Ahn or
so, he would, suddenly, laughing, seize the girl by the
arms and throw her on her back on the mats, thrust up her
dress and rape her as the mere slave she was. Then he
would knot her skirt over her head, confining her arms
within it, and throw her, she laughing, to his men, and
to me, for our sport.
- pg 170
Tribesmen of Gor
note that it
clearly shows that Hassan is the one to throw her to His Men.
nowhere does it say that one of His Men came up and grabbed her,
using her at His will. in yet another example, in
Slave Girls of Gor, the narrator discusses one Man asking for the
use of another's slave, especially when the Owner of the slave is
a guest in another Man's home;
- "Had
Thurnus requested me my master, in such a situation would
have granted me to him immediately. Not to have done so
would have been inexcusably rude, a betrayal, a boorish
breech of hospitality and good manners."
- later on the
same page
- "Satisfied
then with the acknowledgment of this power, which was
rightfully his in this house, Thurnus neither put me to
his purposes, nor requested of my master his permission
to do so, a permission which would have assuredly been
promptly and willingly tendered. Having thus certified my
master's recognition of his rights, he chose,
magnanimously and nobly, as is often done, not to
exercise them. I was, after all, my master's property. In
this simple manner these two strong men had shown one
another, in the Gorean mode, respect. But Gorean males, I
knew, in such situations, not only respected one another,
but were often generous with one another. In the feast to
come tonight, Eta had warned me, there would be a general
exchange of slave girls, the bond girls of the village
being made available to master's men, and the his own
girls, among whom I was one, being made available to the
young lads of the community."
- pages
142-143, Slave Girl of Gor
here we see
examples of what is thought to be 'proper' or 'respectful' in
regards to using another Man's slave, His property. and then there is the reference to it being against
the Codes to use a Man's property without His permission;
- " We
took her without your permission," said Bran Loort.
"In this," said Thurnus, "you have
committed a breach of code." "It does not
matter to me," said Bran Loort. "Neither a
plow, nor a bosk, nor a girl may one man take from
another, saving with the owner's saying of it,"
quoted Thurnus. "I do not care," said Bran
Loort. "What is it, Bran Loort, that separates men
from sleen and larls?" asked Thurnus. "I do not
know," said Bran Loort. "It is the codes,"
said Thurnus
- and later, on
pager 227, the conversation continues;
- "Had you
asked of me my permission, Bran Loort," said
Thurnus, indicating me with a gesture of his head,
"willingly and without thought, gladly, would I have
given you temporary master rights over her." I lay
in the dirt, my hands bound behind my back, the rope on
my neck, watching. It was true what Thurnus had said. I
could have been loaned to Bran Loort, and would have had
to serve him as though he were my own master. "But
you did not ask my permission," said Thurnus.
"No," said Bran Loort, angrily, "I did
not."
- and later
still, on page 228;
- "I am
disposed to be merciful, Bran Loort," said Thurnus,
looking at me. "You may now request my permission
for what you have done to this slave."
"But," said Bran Loort, "I do not request
your permission." "I must then call the
council," said Thurnus, "that we may consider
what is to be done with you."
so it seems, with
these examples, it is common for a Man to either request
permission from the Owner of the slave, or for the Owner of the
slave to offer His property for the uses of the other Man.
that takes care of
the book sense. now we will move on to the talk of real life.
when kyna read this question last week, the first thoughts that
sprang to her mind were; "you don't let someone use your
sports car without asking...you don't let someone ride your horse
without asking...why would a Master let a Man use His slave
without Him giving permission first...or having been asked for
the use of His property?" common sense right? so kyna did a
little searching, asked a few questions of real life Masters she
knows and listened to some conversations being had by Masters
about this subject. the following is an excerpt from a
conversation we had about this subject;
*note*some parts
of this conversation have been paraphrased due to the largely
personal content. kyna has put forth the parts that she found
useful to this question's answer.
- (kyna) why
would a Man need permission from the slave's Master to
use His slave?
- (Master 1)
What if he had a reason to restrict you, or was planning
something for you in which my use of you would impede or
even harm this intention?
- (Masterofkyna)
Or...
- (Masterofkyna)
Would it not be like asking to borrow a man's car?
- * kyna
smiles
- (Master 1)
True. May I have the keys to kyna, please?
- * Master1
grins
- (Masterofkyna)
Would a man not "ask" to do such a thing?
- * kyna laughs
softly...and vrooooomssss
- *
Masterofkyna smiles ... tosses them over
- (Master1) Or
anything of anothers property, exactly. It is
"polite", if we remember our Emily Post.
:)
- * nairi
suspects kyna will be well driven... and hard!!
- *
Masterofkyna laughs
- * kyna perks
perks perks perks
- (Masterofkyna)
Watch her on the turns... she sways a lot
- * nairi
grins
- * kyna grins
impishly
- * kyna
wonders if it is then..basic respect for another Man's
property...respect that that Man Owns that property
..like He would Own a car that another Man would have to
ask permission to drive?
- (Masterofkyna)
I think that is what we just said :)
- (Master 1)
Indeed, what if I broke you? Seriously, what if I used
you to carry some packages and you fell and broke your
arm. then your master found out, he might be angry that
you were disabled for a bit, but you will heal. He might
be peeved that in my use of you, I caused the value of
his property to be diminished for a time. I admit, this
is more a merchant thing than anything, but it is still
true.
- (kyna) kyna
and nairi found a reference to it being against the
codes..but then..a girl wonders about this questions
logic in regards to real life...kyna wonders how many Men
would actually not require permission from others to use
their slaves in real life.
- (Master1) I
will not, of course, discuss the codes with you,
girl.
- (kyna) yes
Master
- (Master1) Are
there men who might use my slaves without asking
me?
- (Master1)
Yes, there are. But those men, I would trust with my
life. Not something that one does easily.
- (nairi) nairi
found reference.. from a slave's perspective... on the
risk of being slave raped by strangers... as the 'price'
a slave pays for being beautiful and arousing...it is
mentioned as not uncommon to be used as a result
- (Masterofkyna)
If we are discussing the "real" sharing of
one's slave, the implications are VERY different.
- (kyna) rape
on earth...taking the word literally is very
different...Master, you would not take kindly to some
strange Man grabbing kyna and using her in the street,
would you?
- (Masterofkyna)
kyna, I would not take kindly to any man using you
anywhere.
- (kyna) yes
Master
- (nairi) does
Master recall the slave who came into (channel) the other
night bragging of being a r/l redsilk slave to be used by
many?
- (Masterofkyna)
Yes, I remember
- (nairi) nairi
worries that if she is indeed what she says she is, that
we might read about her in the obituaries.
- (Masterofkyna)
I think that ANY person who has multiple partners, who
are often used by even more partners, is living
dangerously.
- (Master1) Not
necessarily. If there was a circle of friends whom one
trusted implicitly, then sharing a girl with them is not
an unGorean thing to do. To do so indiscriminately,
however, in this society with all of its ills, is stupid.
Sex is a great demystifier. It carries some heavy baggage
as well. while the fear of STD is there, moreso, it is a
fear of one being harmed emotionally that keeps our
circle of friends a small one.
- (Masterofkyna)
Of course it is not "unBookGorean", but keeping
in mind what you just said, I would think it would have
to be limited to a circle of friends, that one KNEW did
not venture out of for sex.
- (Master1)
Agreed. Why would I lend my car to someone whom I do not
know?
- * nairi
recalls that there were no STD's on Gor
- (Masterofkyna)Yeah...
you never know when someone will put regular unleaded in
your Ferrari
- (Master1)
exactly.
although there was
some joking around in this conversation, it did bring up several
very important points. first off, most Men would not take it
lightly if some stranger came up in the street and raped their
slave... and that in essence is what could possibly happen.
secondly, due to the fact that we live on EARTH not Gor, where
sexually transmitted diseases are a very much real aspect of our
lives, why would a Master not wish to know the other Men who
would use His property? would He not wish them to be those that
He trusts implicitly, say even with His life? and not only know
them, but to have them show the proper respect to Him by
requesting the use of His property if He has not offered. and of
course there is the question of harm, emotional and physical to a
Man's property. if we speak of real life, then of course, the
only answer to this question would have to be that permission, or
at least a prior agreement is a necessity! one does not loan out
their car to a stranger, and strangers who take another's car and
'borrow' it on Earth...well, often they find themselves in jail
for car theft. point in case. kyna begs everyone to be very
careful. this is Earth and not Gor and irc is not Gor either, it
is a virtual world where it can be very easy for a predator to
hide their true nature. predators and disease are a very real
part of our lives. think before you act please :)
- Question
2: As a slave, it is our desire to be as pleasing as
possible to Masters. As a slave, this girl has poured her
heart and soul into being as creatively pleasing as
possible. It is very disheartening when a girl gets
asked.. How much to Rent you, slave.. or Lets go Alc.. we
are here to be pleasing... and a girl *loves* to be
pleasing. but is this how she will find a Master.. by
cybering with every Gorean Master who only wants to rent
her? is there a difference between a slut and a whore?
nairi thought on
this question long and hard. She consulted with kyna on an
appropriate response as well. Finally both slaves approached
Master Bear- for his input on the matter.
There is no
disputing that a slave desires to be pleasing to a Master. In
addition to absolute obedience, being pleasing is one of the
'duties' of a slave. But a slave also has to remember that she
lives on Earth, not Gor. Master Bear- states it emphatically with
his words:
"IRC, it
should be stressed time and time again, is not Gor."
The fact that the
medium of communication is IRC compounds the situation. Master
Bear- has addressed the issue of how to deal with the HNG's of
irc Gor at the following web URL:
http://www2.1starnet.com/mharris/tavern/tavern/ask_bear.html.
He also adds this comment regarding the Masters of the type
referred to in the question; those who ask about renting and
alcoving:
"Were we, as
tavern management, able to see these losers facetoface, few would
get in."
Another thing
which can be found at the website above is a very comprehensive
list of things to keep in mind as a slave travels Gor in search
of a Master. Quite simply, a slave on irc has to keep her wits
about her and rely on her instincts. Please read the words of
Master Bear- on the website. nairi could not explain what to keep
in mind when looking for a Master better than written at that
site.
In Slave Girl of
Gor, on page 137, there is something worth mention, but nairi is
repeats that the passage refers to a slave of Gor, not one of
earthly IRC:
"...though I
loved my apparently increasing beauty, and desirability, and was
incredibly thrilled with it, and my new attractiveness, I was not
unaware that it was attended with risks. It was one thing to be
raped by me master's men, and quite another to know that the same
passions I aroused in them I would similarly inspire in the
breasts of complete strangers. I was not eager to be slaveraped
by strangers, which, Eta assured me, was a not uncommon
experience for a pretty slave."
The last portion
of the question, asking if there is a difference between a whore
and a slut is the simplest, yet hardest, to answer. To again use
the words of Master Bear- in a paraphrased format, a whore will
get paid for her services, a slave receives no stipend for
'services rendered'. A slave can only decide for herself what
those differences are as they pertain to herself and her
judgement.

- red silks
have more fun....!
- "To be
sure," I said, " 'white' in the context of
'white-silk girl' tends less to suggest purity and
innocence to the Gorean than ignorance and naivety, and a
lack of experience. 'Red,' in the context of 'red-silk
girl,' on the other hand, connotes rather clearly, I
think, experience. One expects a red-silk girl, for
example, not only to be able to find her way about the
furs, but, subject to the whip, owned and dominated,
perhaps chained, to prove herself a sensous treasure
within them."

- the nature
of those ever so delicious Gorean Men...
- Gorean men
have a way of looking at a woman which is like stripping
them and putting them to their feet. I felt naked. I put
my hand to the thin brown cloth, clutching it, as though
to close it more, but I only moved it more tightly about
me and higher upon my thighs. I felt, under his gaze,
that every detail of my body must be clear to him. I
shrank back.
- page 267,
Slave Girl of Gor
- One of the
most initially frightening and disturbing things to Earth
women brought to Gor as slaves is the way Gorean men look
at them. They are not used to being looked at as women,
truly, with appraisal, desire and ownership. This tends,
in the beginning, when they are still new to their
collars, to confuse and frighten them, but also, of
course, as it will continue to do, and even more
powerfully, to stimulate them.
- page 258,
Savages of Gor
- intelligence
in a slave girl...
- I was an
ignorant and foolish girl. I would learn that ignorance
and foolishness are not long tolerated in a girl such as
I was to be on Gor.

Slave Girl of Gor
- "Intelligent
bodies," he said, "are far more responsive.
Your very intelligence makes you the more helplessly a
slave." I clutched him. "It pleases me to own
intelligent girls, such as you," he said.
"Intelligent girls make excellent slaves," he
observed.

Slave Girl of Gor
- "Vella,"
said I, "is a highly intelligent, complex
woman." "Such make the best slaves," said
Ibn Saran. "True," I said. Indeed, who would
want to collar any other sort of woman? To take the most
brilliant, the most imaginatie, the most beautiful women,
and put them at your feet, impassioned, helpless slaves
is victory.
- page 126-127,
Tribesmen of Gor
- "Do I
train well, Master?" she asked. "Yes," I
said, "pretty slave. You are an apt pupil, and you
train well." She snuggled against me. "It is a
tribute to your intelligence," I said. "Thank
you, Master," she said.
- page 202,

- eye to eye
contact....
- Sometimes in
training, incidentally, or as discipline or punishement,
the slave is notpermitted to look into theeyes of the
master. Indeed, sometimes, in training, she is not
permitted to raise her eyes above the belt of the
trainer. Also, it must be recognized that many salves
often, and perhaps all slaves sometimes, find it
difficult to look into the eyes of the master. He, after
all, hold total power over them and they fear to
displease him.
- page
258 later, same
subject, page 259
- But, on the
other hand, there is, on Gor, in circles of mastery, no
discouragement, commonly, of eye contact between masters
and slaves. Indeed, in the deep and profound
relationships of love and bondage, such eye contact is
usually welcomed and encouraged. What can be understood
of the glances of masters and slaves by those who have
been unitedonly in lesser relationships? Too, to be sure,
from the practical point of view, it is useful for a girl
to be able to look into the eyes of the master. In this
way she may be able to better read his moods, and
desires, and, accordingly, be able the better to serve
him, in the process perhaps saving herself a few cuffings
and beatings, such as might be garnered by the less
alert, more slothful, laxer girl.
- and more
still, on page 259
- From the
point of view of the master, too, not only is it pleasant
to look into the eyes of a slave, but there are certain
practical advantages attatched to doing so. For example,
one might, in her eyes, read desire, and thus order her
to perform and act which she, even though a slave, might
not have dared to bg to perform...
