lassie{Aldr} lassie sits here, on a cold rainy Sunday, her work completed for the day. She ponders over the happenings of the last week, both real life and on I.R.C. Gor.
lassie finds real life to have been peaceful, relaxing, with its usual bumps and problems. Physical therapy for her knee, work, visitors, grocery shopping, catching up on her reading of Stephen King. Computers crashing, the laughing and the crying. Watching Steve Urkel on Family Matters trying to get that date from Laura, the Friday night movie, a riveting suspense thriller based upon a true story. The afghan lassie is crocheting coming along.
lassie's mind then turns to I.R.C. Gor. Not quite as peaceful and relaxing. Rather turbulent. Her mind drifts to the week prior when the only worry was when lassie's Owner would be online. Then *poof* it all kinda explodes. Sure we all have weeks like this. But, then lassie has to wonder at what cost?
The position of The Gorean Daily Times, placed precariously by a submission from a slave. The place lassie's Owner calls home, a big part in that submission. The discussions, sometimes calm, sometimes heated, that followed that submission. It came to Master Danath at such a late time, giving The Times little chance for any deep thought of the ramifications, if any, of printing such a piece. Decisions had to be made and Master Danath made them.
So what does this have to do with turning lassie's world topsy turvy on I.R.C.? lassie's thoughts turn to the many hours of pleasant conversation with the Masters of the place her Owner calls home. The warm feeling when she entered this place. The wedge it has created, the silence that has now befallen, the chill that now rides high in the air. Was it worth it?
lassie sadly shakes her head, rises from her keyboard, and goes back to the living room, curling up on the end of the couch, the afghan again back in her lap, as she picks up the hook, and Steve Urkel tries once again to get that date with Laura, lassie thinks no more of I.R.C. Gor, no ulcers for lassie. The air now warms her, her heart light. lassie waits for her Owner's return from Germany. Till then winter is upon lassie. brrrrrr chilly!
